Continue your drive South and be sure to stop in Peachland. Peachland is a quaint waterfront town of about 15,000 residents.  It has miles or beautiful shoreline beaches.  You'll love the unique shops and boutiques.  A trip to the museum on Beach Avenue is a nice treat.

Carry on South to Summerland, a small town set back with many unique shops, and lovely beaches.  There is also a waterpark for the kids and a waterfront dining experience for couples or families. Onward, 10 minutes takes you to Penticton, where you will find an amazing amount of things to do.  Downtown Front Street offers a great selection of boutiques, and Cherry Lane Mall is a favorite.   Stop by the beaches or perhaps you will enjoy a float down the Penticton River.  If time allows, a drive straight thru to Osoyoos is always breathtaking and offers many stops of interest.

Head North from Kelowna, and you'll visit Lake Country.  Lake Country has some amazing landscapes, and orchards. You may wish to stop a Beastly Beach on Woods Lake for a swim, enjoy a Screamer Treat at the nearby shop.

Carry on to Vernon. Vernon has a terrific shopping core, or perhaps you'd prefer the day on the beach at Kalamalka Lake.  (so warm) There is a great beach house restaurant to enjoy your lunch or dinner at.  If time allows, our Famous Silver Star Resort is open for summer tours, you may enjoy a scenic chair ride.

Ogopogo lives in Okanagan Lake

A Kelowna Vacation would not be complete without a trip to the sails at Kerry Park, downtown Kelowna. You must take the time to search for Ogopogo, the legendary lake monster that reputedly resides in our Okanagan Lake.

The myth dates back to the Interior Salish Native people who exchanged stories of a lake creature, or “N’ha-a-itk”, over 100 years ago.

The creature later became known as Ogopogo and purported sightings over the years continue to strengthen the legend.

To “see” Ogopogo for yourself, be sure to visit him downtown on Bernard near the sails.  Bring your camera!
